The Cradle

The Cradle, designed by Gil Hanse, is Pinehurst’s nine-hole short course. Holes range from 56 to 127 yards, so only a few clubs are needed to have a good time. Sunday-style sling bags are offered to carry their clubs by hand.

The funky par-3 layout is full of undulating greens and is a perfect way to settle bets or play team-style games.

The bar at the 4th tee box is quite expensive, even for resort standards. We recommend making a drink (or two) at home and bringing it for the walk. The course can get backed up quickly with large groups. If the Cradle happens to be wide open, you’ll have a great time.

Greens fees are $50 and include unlimited play. Resort guests may book tee times in advance, while public tee times are available 24 hours in advance.

It’s the perfect way to end your day, whether you played golf earlier or not.
