Certainly, one of the newer courses in the St. Andrews area, Kingsbarns (2000), is one of the most fun, scenic, and engaging layouts we've ever played. Simply put, there isn't a bad hole on the property. Golf has been played on this land since 1793 - A nine-hole course was played over part of the current layout during WW2 by soldiers who protected the beach as a potential invasion risk.
Its location on the edge of the coastline offers fantastic views of the North Sea, while the interior holes are super interesting, demanding creative shots into pure undulated greens. 36-holes feels like the right thing to do here. We were the first group out in the morning and enjoyed a long, comfortable lunch before playing 18 more holes into the night.
We loved everything about Kingsbarns - the design, setting, and service have few equals. Kingsbarns should not be missed if you are in the area.
