Big Little 9

Cape May Court House, New Jersey

The Big Little 9 (formerly Laguna Oaks) is an awesome nine-hole, par-3 course in Cape May County, NJ. Recently renovated after the passing of longtime owner Fred Langford, the course has taken a big step in modernizing its golf experience while maintaining Fred’s legacy. From music and bocce ball courts to newly designed holes and a coffee shack (@cupofblissco), The Big Little 9 is perfect for a quick round before or after the beach. The course offers two distinct tee boxes per hole, making it super playable for both beginners and avid golfers.

Laguna Oaks

“A par can feel rewarding, A birdie will make you feel terrific.”

Fred Langford’s goal when building Laguna Oaks, a 10-hole Par-3 course, was to make golf more accessible by creating an atmosphere that is welcoming and less intimidating.

Laguna Oaks employs a unique scoring system created by Langford called “Golden Golf” that is designed to increase enjoyment of the game. The Par rating for each hole changes based on a player’s handicap. For example, the 180 yard Par-3 hole becomes a Par-5 for the high handicap player.

Laguna Oaks is full of water hazards including waterfalls and island greens, all of which were added when he acquired the land in the early 1990s.

Be sure to stop at nearby Hooked Up Seafood for a picnic table lunch on the water. Eat boat-to-table and enjoy the freshest of catches from the "Defiance", docked right behind the restaurant.
